Underdial app home screen — check a watch, your rotation, and recent checks
Quick Answer

Underdial is an iOS app for watch buyers. Search any watch under $1,000 and it checks the piece against the collection you already own, your budget, and your wrist size — then gives a plain verdict, flags anything redundant, and lists cheaper ways to the same style. Underdial is not a retailer; it never sells watches.

Built for the under-$1,000 buyer

Check any watch

Search the watch you are eyeing. WatchFit checks it against your box, your budget, and your wrist — and gives a plain verdict, not a hype reel.

Spot the redundancy

Already own a black mechanical diver? Underdial tells you before you buy a second one. It compares archetype, movement family, and dial.

Cheaper ways to the same style

For any watch you check, Underdial surfaces lower-priced pieces in the same archetype and movement class — with the savings spelled out.

Audit your whole box

See your collection's spread, redundancies, and gaps at a glance. Find the slot you are actually missing instead of buying more of the same.

How does Underdial make money?

Underdial is free to download. An optional Underdial Plus subscription unlocks unlimited checks, the cheaper-alternatives list, the full Box Audit, and the reasoning behind every verdict. When you decide to buy a watch, the app links out to the retailer that carries it — and may earn a small commission on that referral, at no cost to you. There are no ads and no data selling. We do not sell watches.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Underdial?

Underdial is an iOS app for people buying watches under $1,000. You search a watch you are eyeing, and the WatchFit advisor checks it against the watches you already own, your wrist size, and your budget — then tells you whether it is a smart add, redundant, or the wrong fit, and reasons through why.

Is Underdial a retailer?

No. Underdial does not sell watches. When you decide to buy, the app links out to the retailer that carries the watch and may earn a small commission on that referral, at no cost to you. This is disclosed on every buy screen and in the Terms. The price you pay is the same.

Why only watches under $1,000?

Underdial is built for the sub-$1,000 buyer — the person weighing a Seiko against a Tissot against a microbrand, not someone shopping Rolex or Patek. Keeping a hard ceiling means every check, every cheaper alternative, and every box-audit recommendation stays in a price band you would actually buy in.

Is Underdial free? What does Plus unlock?

The app is free to download and gives you two full watch checks plus unlimited browsing and collection tracking. Underdial Plus unlocks unlimited checks, the cheaper-alternatives list on every result, the full Box Audit of your collection, and the reasoning behind each verdict. Plus is managed through Apple and cancelable anytime in iOS Settings.

How does the wrist-fit check work?

During a 30-second setup you pick your wrist size — slim, average, or large. Underdial maps that to a target case diameter and flags watches that will wear too large or too small for you, so a 44mm diver does not end up swallowing a 6.25-inch wrist. It is the kind of check a good shop owner would make for you.

Does my collection data stay private?

Yes. Your box, your wrist notes, and your check history live on your device. There is no account to create and no sign-in. Underdial does not run cross-user advertising and does not sell personal information. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

Will there be an Android version?

Underdial launches on iOS first. An Android release is on the roadmap but not yet scheduled.
