Privacy Policy

Underdial ("we", "our", or "the app") is a watch-advisor app for iOS, with a companion website at https://underdial.com. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how to delete it — for both the app and the website. The short version: there is no account and no sign-in, and your collection data stays on your device.

1. Information We Collect

No account. Underdial has no sign-in and no user accounts. We do not collect your name, email, or any login identifier to use the app.

On-device content. The watches in your box, your wrist size, your preferences, and your check history are stored locally on your device. This data is not uploaded to us and is not associated with any identity.

Device data. We may collect basic, anonymous diagnostics (OS version, device model, app version) and crash reports to keep the app working. We do not collect precise location, contacts, health, or financial data.

Purchase information. Underdial Plus subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive a purchase confirmation but never see your payment details.

2. How We Use Your Information

To run your box, wrist-fit settings, and check history on your device.
To produce verdicts, redundancy flags, cheaper-alternative lists, and Box Audits locally.
To keep the catalog current and the app stable using anonymous diagnostics.
To process Underdial Plus subscriptions through the App Store.

3. Privacy Posture

Your box, wrist notes, and check history are private by default and live on your device. We do not run cross-user advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of third parties. Each receives only the data necessary for the service it provides:

Apple — App Store distribution and subscription payment processing.
Awin — affiliate network that powers the outbound "Buy from" retailer links.
Anonymous analytics and crash reporting — aggregate, non-identifying usage and stability data.

5. Affiliate Link Tracking

When you tap a "Buy from" link, Underdial sends you to the retailer through our affiliate network, Awin. The retailer and Awin may set cookies or identifiers on the destination site that we have no control over. Underdial itself does not pass any personal identity to the retailer — there is none to pass.

6. Data Retention

Because your collection data lives on your device, it is retained for as long as the app is installed. Deleting the app, or using the in-app reset, permanently removes your box, wrist settings, and check history. There is nothing stored on our servers to delete.

7. Your Rights

California residents and EU users have rights under CCPA and GDPR respectively. Because we do not hold an identifiable copy of your collection data, most data-access and deletion requests are satisfied directly on your device. For any question, contact us using the address below.

8. Children's Privacy

Underdial is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

9. Data Security

Network requests are made over HTTPS. Your collection data is stored on your device using the operating system's standard app storage. We follow industry-standard practices to protect any anonymous data we handle.

10. How to Delete Your Data

You may remove your data at any time:

In-app: Settings → Reset Data.
Delete the app: removing Underdial from your device deletes its local data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
